Dear Partner,
Laura and I would like
to express our sincere appreciation and thanks for your rapid and
continuous support. We were delighted to see the quick responses.
The calls, cards, flowers and letters were all so gracious.
Today as I write this,
Laura and I went to the hospital to have a check up. Laura had tubes
through her back into her lungs to drain fluid. They took X-rays and
found no fluid on her lungs. The tubes were removed today and she was
released after 30 minutes. Praise the Lord! This is one of the first
steps towards Laura returning to her normal lifestyle.
We love and appreciate you.
Our hearts are with you also. Thanks again for being such great partners.
God is good and His mercy endures forever.
Of late, the Lord has been
dealing with me about knowing and understanding Him better. Jeremiah
9:23-24:
23Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory
in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let
not the rich man glory in his riches: 24But let him that
glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that
I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness,
in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
These scriptures are saying
let me show you a more excellent way to wisdom, might and riches since
He (the Lord) has made provision for each.
Wisdom - Being led
away for crucifixion, Jesus opened not his mouth, so that we could open
our mouths with wisdom. (Isaiah 53:7, Acts 8:32)
Mighty - The Lord
is mighty. There is nothing impossible with Him. (Zephaniah 3:17, Luke
1:37, Matthew 19:26)
Riches - Jesus became
poor, so that we could become rich. He desires communication.
(Deuteronomy 28:1-13, II Corinthians 8:9)
It is His desire that we become
one with Him in thought, purpose and deed. Loving-kindness, judgment and
righteousness are His delight. Psalm 37:4-5:
4Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give
thee the desires of thine heart. 5Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust
also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Loving-kindness - speaks of
covenant. We are covenant people. (Deuteronomy 8:18, Hebrews 10:16-17).
Judgment (justice) - The wisdom
of God is available to do judgment (justice). (I Kings 3:5-28, John 8:3-11)
Righteousness - Isaiah 32:17: And
the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and
assurance for ever.
"Praise, worship, fellowship and prayer
are the order of the day. Commit yourself to them and I will show you the way."
Fellowship with the Lord is the main thing. Spend time in fellowship with the Lord
and the rest will fall into place.
Lamentations 3:22-23:
22It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because
his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy
faithfulness.
It is his desire that we be conscious
of his presence throughout the day.
Isaiah 26:3:
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee : because
he trusteth in thee.
Set aside time to meet, trust and
appreciate the Lord every day.
I remain . . .
In
His Service,
George
