Dear Partner,
The Unction to Function
I John 2:20,27:
20But ye have an unction (anointing) from the Holy
One, and ye know all things.
27But the anointing which ye have received of him
abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the
same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no
lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Unction is the anointing.
It is the power of the Holy Spirit: an unction, perception or a prompting.
In May, I had a delayed flight
from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Toronto. The weather was bad in Chicago,
so I had to stay overnight in Toronto. The airline arranged a very
nice hotel room. However, I had trouble sleeping. I got out of bed
around 4 or 5 AM. Whenever I have trouble sleeping, ordinarily, I
would read my Bible and pray at the same time. This time, I turned
on the TV. It went directly to a Christian station. A TV pastor was
stating that we should allow the Holy Spirit to become a part of our
lives. We should follow our promptings or unctions. It was just what
I needed to hear.
When you follow the anointing
(unction), the things you do naturally culminates into something supernatural.
As you operate in the anointing, what you do becomes easy and natural.
Peter stepped into the anointing (unction), when he healed the man at
the Beautiful Gate (Acts 3:1-8).
The anointing (unction)
comes as the Spirit wills. However, we can prepare ourselves by prayer
and consumption of the Word of God. They will fuel our relationship.
(Psalm 91:14-16, Proverbs 8:17, Matthew 11:28-30, II Peter 1:3) You
can expect a fresh anointing to come by the way you live personally,
publicly and privately.
In
His Service,
George
