Dear Partner,

The number 8 is the scriptural number for new beginnings. For me, it has truly been that already this year. I know that a miraculous tone has been set for the whole year. This year, I believe will be the turning point for the body of Christ.

Genesis 15:1 “After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.” The things that had happened to Abram in chapter 14 led up to the vision. The King of Sodom (where Abram’s nephew Lot lived) took four kings and went to war against four other kings. They were defeated by the four other kings. Lot was taken prisoner as well as his goods being taken. There was a man who escaped and told Abram. Abram armed his trained servants (318) along with 2 Amorite brothers that were allies. He pursued them. Genesis 14:15-16 15And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus. 16And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.”

After he had defeated the kings, the King of Sodom and the King of Salem went out to meet him. Genesis 14:18-23 18And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. 19And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: 20And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all. 21And the king of Sodom said unto Abram, Give me the persons, and take the goods to thyself. 22And Abram said to the king of Sodom, I have lift up mine hand unto the LORD, the most high God, the possessor of heaven and earth, 23That I will not take from a thread even to a shoelatchet, and that I will not take any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say, I have made Abram rich:” Even as the Loard said he was a shield for Abram, so is he for us.

Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”

We have had the World Trade Center sabotaged, tsunamis, hurricanes (Katrina, Wilma, others), tornadoes, earthquakes, the economy fluctuating. The Body of Christ has openly been attacked.

Psalm 91:1-12 1He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty 2I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. 3Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. 4He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler. 5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee. 8Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked. 9Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; 10There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. 11For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. 12They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.”

Even though these things are on the horizon, the Lord has promised to be a shield for us. The only thing we have to do is trust him. In every situation we have to face, his wisdom and power is available to us. We can and should trust him, so that which has been promised to us will become a reality. This is our day and our time with God.

I love you,

George Moss
