Dear Partner,
Romans 1:16
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation
to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.”
John 14:6
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the
Father, but by me."
Colossians 1:25-29, 2:1-10
"25Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is
given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God; 26Even the mystery which hath been
hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints: 27To whom
God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is
Christ in you, the hope of glory: 28Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching
every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus: 29Whereunto
I also labour, striving according to his working, which worketh in me mightily. 1For I would
that ye knew what great conflict I have for you, and for them at Laodicea, and for as many as have not
seen my face in the flesh; 2That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together
in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the
mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; 3In whom are hid all the treasures of
wisdom and knowledge. 4And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing
words. 5For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying
and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ. 6As ye have
therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: 7Rooted and built up in
him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition
of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9For in him dwelleth
all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. 10And ye are complete in him, which is the head
of all principality and power:”"
I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. (Jesus the Christ, Messiah, Holy One, Anointed One). Jesus
is the name of our Savior and Lord. His office is the Messiah, Old Testament one that Israel is looking
for: The Christ, The Holy One, Savior of the world (John 3:16). Jesus is the central figure of the whole
bible. Without Him, there is no hope, no gospel. However, with Him are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
When there is a revelation of the gospel, there can be no shame or exclusion of Him. The reality of the
Gospel is Christ in you, the hope of glory. He desires to manifest Himself in your life and mine.
I am no longer ashamed to share Him with others. About 31 years ago, I went to Israel from Germany. I
was stationed in Germany at the time. I took my wife and two sons (3 years old and 5 months old). We
lived in a hotel on Zion Square. My wife strapped our 5-month-old to her chest facing her. When on tour,
as we would get off the bus and enter the stores and restaurants, favor was shown to us. At the hotel,
the manager and his wife gave us the (kosher) food that they ate. They asked us to go to their home for
Chanukah. Of course, gentiles are not normally present during this ceremony. He pulled the shades in
his home and lit the candle. It was one of seven. He finished the ceremony and sat down. “Tell me
about Jesus” was the next statement. I was startled, because I was told not to talk about Jesus to
the Israelis. However, I was able to talk to them about Jesus out of the Old Testament. The next
day, I bought them a New Testament.
We left Jerusalem and went to Tel Aviv. As we walked down the street, there was a beggar lady
who wanted to talk to the boys. She only spoke Hebrew. There was a young man who came to assist.
He took charge of the situation by interpreting and taking us to dinner. His occupation was a
wholesale diamond salesman. I told him about Jesus and it was like pouring water on a duck’s
back. We stayed in touch by writing and calling.
Within a year’s time, he had gotten married. I received a message from him on my voice mail.
It was frantic. He and his wife were in New York and were on their way to Tulsa. He was concerned
about me going into the ministry. When they arrived at the airport, his conversation was about
convincing me not to go into the ministry. After we talked for a while, I understood that he
thought I was going into politics. This opened the door for the gospel, because of his concern
for my welfare. He received the Lord and they stayed with us for a week.
If Jesus is manifested in your life, people of all nations will be drawn to you. The wonderful
thing about Jesus is that he takes us as we are. Because of our communing relationship, we will
know what to do when He is manifest. He brings people to us, because he knows what we will do,
even when we don’t. It is comforting to trust Him in all situations.
I love you,
George Moss
